We made our first attempt at a small event back in 2015. On [29 and 30.08.2015](https://web.archive.org/web/20240430222836/https://www.interfug.de/) we hosted a mini-congress in the Lokomov bar, directly below our [space](https://chaoschemnitz.de/). Although we hadn't done much advertising, there were still several talks and we even had external guests (two).
At the beginning of this year we were able to prove that we can do this with more guests. In addition to our annual ["Free-Rider-Event"](https://chemnitzer.linux-tage.de/2024/de/addons/linux-nacht) at the Chemnitzer Linuxtage, we invited the [ChaosZone](https://chaoszone.cz/) to the [Winterchaos](https://chaoschemnitz.de/Winterchaos) at the same location. The good response with around 50 participants inspired us to do "something real".
