We made our first attempt at a small event back in 2015. On [29 and 30.08.2015](https://web.archive.org/web/20240430222836/https://www.interfug.de/) we hosted a mini-congress in the Lokomov bar, directly below our [space](https://chaoschemnitz.de/). Although we hadn't done much advertising, there were still several talks and we even had external guests (two).
At the beginning of this year we were able to prove that we can do this with more guests. In addition to our annual ["Free-Rider-Event"](https://chemnitzer.linux-tage.de/2024/de/addons/linux-nacht) at the Chemnitzer Linuxtage, we invited the [ChaosZone](https://chaoszone.cz/) to the [Winterchaos](https://chaoschemnitz.de/Winterchaos) at the same location. The good response with around 50 participants inspired us to do "something real".

Under the motto Technikf(|l)u(g|ch) we invite you to a cozy geekend in Chemnitz at ~~Subbotnik~~ [Lokomov](https://www.klub-solitaer.de/kulturort/lokomov/) to kick off the 42nd calendar week from **12 to 13.10.2024**. The focus will be on the topics of media, AI and technical innovations from then and now. Not only the use of this technology, but also its influence on society will play a role. Admission is free, but donations are greatly appreciated. We hereby open the Call for Participation. You are welcome to send us your submissions by ~~08.09.2024~~ **22.09.2024** at cfp@interfug.de.
The Interfug will be our annual contribution to more Chaos in Eastern Germany. With the Lokomov as our venue, we have a suitable location right in our building, which offers sufficient space and a suitable ambience. The location will remain open overnight and the continuous supply of Mate is also guaranteed.
The bar is (visually) divided in half by its U-shape. We will use the part with the stage for your presentations. The rest of the bar offers sufficient seating and we can also move to our hackerspace on the second floor for small workshops.
As a small attraction, we are planning a give-away table for your surplus electronic components, so please bring interesting electronic devices (no scrap) and we will see what fine "Fug" is made from the parts. We hope that you will help us empty the table at the end of the event so that we only have to take a manageable amount to the recycling center.
We look forward to receiving your submissions in the form of talks, workshops and art projects. Please give them a meaningful title and an informative short description. Your presentations should not exceed 20 or 45 minutes. Please also note that we are currently planning without a separate workshop room and that you may have to retreat to a corner depending on the size of the workshop. If there is an increased demand, we will take this into account when planning the space. At the moment we cannot say whether there will be recordings of the talks. Nevertheless, please let us know whether you would agree to a recording.

This year's Interfug takes place in exactly four weeks on **12. and 13.10.2024**. Our current planning status makes it necessary to change the venue at short notice. Interfug 2024 will now take place at **[Lokomov](https://www.klub-solitaer.de/en/kulturort/lokomov/)** at **Augustusburger Straße 102 in 09126 Chemnitz**.
Please register your participation free of charge so that we can plan better. In the order process you can also indicate whether you would like to have breakfast with us on Sunday:

We are also extending our CfP. You can still submit your presentations and workshops to us at cfp@interfug.de until 22.09.2024. Feel free to give a talk on the smaller stage of the Lokomov.

As already announced, there will be on-board entertainment during our trip. Some of our fellow passengers have agreed to give talks. You can find the program in the tables below.
There are also free workshop slots that you are welcome to use (=> cfp@interfug.de). You can also register for Lightning Talks on site.
If you have not yet registered, please do so, as the window seats are already fully booked and only a few seats are still available.
During the trip, it is exceptionally permitted to operate mobile devices according to the DECT standard ([Eventphone](https://guru3.eventphone.de)).
For more fun with your devices, we would like to draw your attention once again to our give-away table. Here you can leave surplus but still functional electronic components and devices (no scrap) for exchange and you are also welcome to take something with you.
